Body Found In Closet With Wire Twisting Death

The body of Herbert Gilmore, a young stenographer and only son of a widow, was found in a small closet in room 106 of the Equitable building. A wire cord around his neck, stab wounds on the left wrist and right forearm, and a pool of blood marked a self inflicted death driven by a painful brain disease. His mother, who adored him, learned of the tragedy as friends gathered and the coroner was notified.
