July 15 set for Bacon election in Georgia
Bibb county delegation introduced a bill asking the general assembly to authorize the governor to order a special election for a United States senator from Georgia for the term March 4 1913 to March 3 1919, naming July 10 as election date. The bill, read a second time, is expected to pass on taka reading. The change follows a constitutional amendment moving senate elections to popular vote, leaving the legislature unable to ratify Governor Brown's appointment of Senator Bacon for the uneaired term. June 30 is the last day to pay the second tax installment. JE Williams, City Tax Collector.
