Cotton Congress Meets in Britain Compliments Delegates
The third international congress of Cotton Weavers and Spinners met for several hours to discuss improvements in baling and shipping cotton. Marcus testified to the abundance of British work, and a suggestion was made for a Washington conference of cotton growers and spinners to improve understanding and repeat the effort. A committee was appointed to consult with printers on a new form of contract for cotton purchases, and German and other delegates proposed measures to control large cotton holdings to stabilize the market.
