Coca Cola Bottlers Reach Settlement Over Perpetual Contracts
A late Saturday night agreement between the Coca Cola Company of Delaware and its bottlers ends a year long dispute over perpetuity of contracts. The settlement, to be formalized this week, dismisses injunctions and restores prior relations. Key figures include Eugene Stethen of Guaranty Trust and leaders from Coca Cola and bottling firms. Prices for syrup will adjust from the current court-ordered 1644 cents per gallon to 112 cents net after credits, with reductions as sugar costs fall. The Atlanta conference shaped the terms, with Stetson representing Coca Cola and Jack Spalding for the bottlers.
