Hil yard Hand of the Seaboard Air Line railroad led three policemen in a pursuit on Decatur Street after his wife and a man named J. C. Williams fled with an 8 year old stepson. Hand and officers pursued, captured the fugitives, and lodged them. Recorder Broyles will investigate in the morning.
Seaboard Air Line Railway runs a weekly Saturday night train from Wrightsville Beach to Atlanta with a return sleeper from Wilmington on Thursday. Weekend rate applies. Also notice of teacher examinations for county public schools on June 29 and 30 at 3:30 am at the M. C. building Pryor and Auburn.
Charles Bell, a 25 to 30 year old lineman for Avanta Telephone Company, fell from a wire at the corner of Kay and Courtland Streets while descending an elevated rig. An ambulance from Grady Hospital summoned for medical help found him dead. Bell, a young man living at 30 Toman Avenue, had no inquest held and his body was taken to Patterson Undertaking Establishment for humeral arrangements.
