Menacing reply to Wilson from Mexican convention government
Washington reports that Francisco Lagos Chazaro, head of the Villa Zapata convention in Mexico City, says the convention will maintain Mexican dignity and seeks peace by unifying factions. The note, relayed by Brazil, argues Wilson’s statements amount to advice, not a right to intervene, and urges a fusion of contending groups with reforms. States hopes for a friendly end to the fratricidal struggle, while avoiding any threat to Mexican sovereignty.
