No Reply From Spencer On Atlanta Depot Plans
General Agent Thompson and Governor Candler report no word from President Spencer regarding the Georgia proposal for a new depot on state property. Officials expect a decision possibly tomorrow as mail from New York is light. Indications point to a plan for a Southern passenger station near the Mitchell Street viaduct, with through trains moving to that site and existing structures repurposed for suburban service.
