Indianapolis June 14. Cole Motor Car company forms a bureau of information to aid in recovering stolen Cole automobiles across the United States and Canada. J D Hiker named head. The bureau will alert Cole distributors and retailers to scour garages and other places for clues. Two cars were recovered recently, prompting an arrest. President Cole offered a reward after a high profile Buffalo run.
A 1912 editorial argues against two and four cylinder models, noting a surge in six cylinder makers and left-side drives. It warns buyers to choose fore doors, left-side entry, and flush bodies with concealed hinges, predicting right-side drives and outdated features will fade by 1914. It urges selecting cars with modern, practical characteristics to avoid being behind the times.
