Johnson on Trial for Manslaughter in Georgia Case
Johnson stands trial for voluntary manslaughter in Atlanta following a dispute over cows that led to the stabbing of Robert Smith near the exposition grounds in August 1901. Witnesses for both sides give conflicting accounts of who struck first, with self defense argued by the defense and passion by the state. Trial adjourned with verdict expected, and next cases include the Millard Les murder matter and the Wooten witness pursuit, amid rail excursion ads.
