Taylor County residents contribute four dollars to support road improvements. Citizens urge the county to serve as a vital link in the Atlanta to Ibany route, highlighting infrastructure needs and regional connectivity.
In Butler and nearby towns residents rallied to support the Atlanta and Albany route proposed in The Constitution. About $400 was raised for private subscriptions to back the project, with emphasis on directness and connecting eight county seats. Several cities and counties along the route were identified, and local leaders, including Walter E. Steed, endorsed the effort.

A mob broke into a jail in Tallahassee and caused a fatal harm to a Black person as law enforcement faced resistance. Sheriffs reported the incident and are investigating the breach and its deadly outcome.
In Tallahassee on June 6 a mob of about fifteen masked men abducted Mark Morris from his jail cell and hanged him from a tree limb in the yard after overpowering the lone jailer. The murder victim had been sentenced to death for killing former Leon County Sheriff William Langston, with authorities invoking ongoing fears of unrest if the execution proceeded. The governor was informed but issued no immediate statement as the case stirred local tension.

Louis Cohen of Buffalo leaped into the Niagara River to save his wife who had plunged from the Second and Third Sisters Islands. He clung to her as a strong current carried them toward the rapids. Rescue efforts failed after an hour as rope lines finally reached them but could not save the couple. Police and volunteers continued the perilous effort as the couple’s fate remained uncertain when the account ended.

In a ward of South Atlanta on Fortress Avenue, Andrew Jack Taylor shot Hubert Dial after an intoxicated quarrel with Dial and George Perdue. Dial, 22, a car repairer, died from two injuries. Taylor claimed self defense and was arrested by County Officers Poole and Odom. The incident followed a prior confrontation near Langley’s porch and involved Langley and another man, with the scene extending to Grady Hospital and a later police response.
Five masked burglars raided the home of Mrs Minnia Ashe near Belmont. They bound her daughter Mary Ober and granddaughter Minnie Ober, tortured them with candles to their feet, and fled after taking $360. Miss Ober summoned help and villagers hunted for the assailants. The attack sparks a looming lynching threat.
Carver Patterson a 28 year old Rome resident drowned while swimming in the lake at DeSoto Park Rome Ga June 6 Special. Friends pulled him out after he called for help and he was alive at the bank but died at his aunt's home in the fifth ward. Patterson was employed by Anchor Drip Mills and was to have become a father.
Girard Williams, six, was left hanging by a leather strap around his neck in his grandmother’s back yard after a game inspired by a film scene. Four doctors treated him. he regained consciousness and rested, with a good chance of recovery, as classmates and adults reacted with horror and alarm.
