Water rate increase eyed by Atlanta finance committee
The finance committee will study a proposal to raise watch rates in Atlanta from 4 cents to 1 per 800 cubic feet per month at an afternoon meeting. The move comes amid a June finance sheet delay caused by a $900,000 treasury shortfall from overestimated tax receipts. Councilman A Cone and Alderman T A Gordon pushed the 20 percent water rate rise in the resolution.
