Officer Slain by Negro Prisoner in Street Duel
Iron City Ga June 3 Special. Town marshal J Williams was killed by Silas Paramore a negro prisoner near the city jail. Williams chased to the car after granting a request to remove a switch key. Paramore drew a pistol from the front seat and shot Williams in the back as he pursued toward the business district. Williams died about 13 yards from the car leaving a wife and four small children.

Four Die As Train Strikes Auto At Crossing
Cumberland Maryland June 3. Two men a woman and two boys were killed when Western Maryland passenger train No 2 struck and demolished an automobile at Herbert crossing about six miles west of Hancock.

Struck by Auto Child May Die in Atlanta
The death of Owen Lewis, six year old son of G W Lewis of 255 Humphries street, was feared after he was struck by a motor vehicle driven by W E Morgan of 466 Whitehall street in front of their home. The child wandered from his sick mother while his father lay ill and died en route to Grady hospital. Police deemed the incident avoidable and no charges were sought. Four accidents occurred Sunday injuring nine people including a collision at Boulevard and Kent street involving Ralph Stephenson and E Ty Smithy and two women injured at Pryor and Chestnut streets.
