Demand Stronger For Cotton Goods
New York June 2 There is improved demand for cotton goods at retail counters and jobbing houses with warmer weather. Primary markets are quiet as eastern houses move into fall stocks. Export shipments remain large while demand for new goods to Caoina and Red aes ports is slowed by unsettled conditions. Fall River sold 100000 pieces of print cloth, 20000 for spot delivery, with production limited by a holiday. Labor troubles impede mill output. An extra quarter cent per yard rise was posted on printed shirtings. Prices shown include print cloths and denims with varied yardages and standards.
