New Yorker Ends Life in Atlanta Amid Identity Mystery
A young man identified as B F Southerlander of New York was found dead in his room at 8 4 West Harris Street Wednesday morning after apparently dying by self-inflicted suffocation with a tube from a gas jet. He had rented from Mrs. G G Miller, sought to be called Sanford, and removed initials from his clothes to conceal identity. No motive or note was found. Coroner’s inquest returned verdict of death by suicide after testimony from a clerk at the Oliver hotel and the landlady. The deceased had registered March 24 and stayed a week before moving to West Harris Street. Police are seeking family connections through New York authorities.
