Oliver E. Snapp, entomologist at Fort Valley, reports rains likely won’t hurt late peach varieties this year. May rainfall totals reach about 10 inches, higher than last year, but there is no brown rot in late orchards and Mayflowers shipped in crates show high quality. If weather clears, damage from wet weather should be minimal to some early varieties.
