Former U S Soldier Kills Wife Then Turns Gun on Self
Edwin A. Moore, 27, a former U S soldier who served on the Mexican border, shot his 16-year-old wife Violette Tucker Moore at their Pulliam Street home, then killed himself with two bullets. The couple had eloped about 18 months ago against her parents' wishes. Moore died at Grady Hospital about an hour later. The tragedy drew witnesses from the Cox home as the couple’s parents and boarders returned to hear the gunshots and discover the scene.
