Telegrams Show Innes Was Wired Large Sums By Mrs Elois Dennis
Telegrams reveal Atlanta heiress Elois Nelms Dennis wired large sums to Portland lawyer Victor Innes through various aliases. As late as April 1 this year she sent $690 to Innes in San Antonio, with a web of pseudonyms and a mysterious agent identified as Margaret Mims. The correspondence shows coercive control by Innes and persistent requests for funds, including a December request to send one thousand dollars and earlier pleas dated November and September 1913.

House Committee Votes Against Prohibition Bills in Georgia
The temperance committee of the house voted to kill all proposed prohibition measures after a Thursday session. Debates covered pure beer sales, a Webb national prohibition bill, and a ban on articles over 0.5 percent alcohol, with votes largely against these measures. The session also discussed Panama Exposition funding for a Georgia building and a state exhibit, along with appropriations for state education and public schools. The push to elect municipal court judges in Atlanta was reconsidered but defeated. Continued on Last Page.
