Omaha Neb July 30 Fred Wahlgren of Minneapolis shot and instantly killed his estranged wife August Maitland at a Model steam mary. She had run away with him from Minneapolis on June 13 and married him in Omaha. Wahlgren, who had come to Omaha with intent to kill, shot her and then expressed satisfaction at her death.
Clay Merritt appeared before Justice Psie in Ke ee Illinois on a charge of violating wildlife laws. The state warden led the prosecution, alleging possession of birds and illegal game. If found guilty, the minimum fines range up to 750 dollars, with several sportsmen and cold storage operators implicated.

Joseph Barthel a shoe upper maker was due to appear at Harrison street station on a stolen property charge but killed himself in his Randolph Street shop early this morning. He was fifty seven and leaves a son and daughter.
