In Rock Arkansas July 27 a custody dispute over a child erupted into tragedy when W I Blitz shot and killed Nathaniel Parker Willis during a court conference. Willis died ten minutes later. the shooter, his wife Elis, fled and was jailed then moved for safekeeping. Senator Jeff Davis narrowly escaped injury as a bullet grazed near him.

Endurance Flight Breaks World Two Man Record at Fort Myer

Washington July 27 Orville Wright with Lieutenant Frank Lahm aboard set a new world two man aeroplane endurance record at Fort Myer surpassing the prior one hour nine minutes by 12 minutes forty seconds, aided by President Taft who applauded the achievement.
