In Macon Georgia on July 26 three members of Frank Stegers family narrowly escaped death during a thunderstorm when a bolt struck their home at 262 Jeff Davis Street. The bolt demolished a rear porch and traveled through the house to the front gallery, then struck the chains of swings where Mrs Stegers and her daughters Francis and Aleen were seated. Aleen and Francis were shocked, while their mother also suffered a brief, rigid shock.
