Postpone action on Wimberly anti trust bill in committee
The Wimberly anti trust bill faced three hours of debate before the general judiciary committee postponed action at Senator Wimberly's request for more study time. Supporters accused it of being a tool for a Macon fuel group, while opponents cited chamber of commerce opposition and potential state harm. The measure aims to criminalize contracts or conspiracies restraining trade and to curb price cutting, with a broader struggle reflected in a broader industrial battle.
