A Georgia family on Tatnall Street suffered severe stomach pains and vomiting after drinking butter milk from a wagon-bound seller. Grain advances triggered suspensions of C H Albers & Co and Charles W Buckley & Co in St Louis. Other notable failures include Gould H Thorp John Derridean Breinfeld Mortis R Stroud & Son and A C Fish. Regional shifts show increases in the middle New England and western states, with Georgia and Tennessee reporting only three failures. Georgia and Tennessee noted specific failures such as BE D Smythe & Co crockery in Augusta and James Manning machinist in Savannah. Plant & Frenz general store in Milan and a St Louis resident’s suicide are also mentioned.

A Savannah Morning News style report recalls a near tragedy in a fourth ward Atlanta home. A guest, wandering in a disturbed sleep, tried to exit a window by crawling over a sleeping host. The host grasped the nightdress, saving both from a fatal fall. The rescuer fainted, leaving friends anxious for her recovery.
