Macon Ga July 19 Special The preliminary hearing before United States Commissioner W E Martin Jr of Dr Dewitt McCrary drugist and member of the board of county commissioners and Hugh McKelvey his prescriptionist both charged with violations of the Harrison narcotic law.
Testimony in Macon reveals Dr W F Carroll wrote two massive narcotic prescriptions for McKervey including an ounce of morphine and a pound of opium with 9000 doses claimed by officials. Gaps involve tampering with prescriptions from McCrary drug store while McKervey’s drug use remains disputed and neither defendant testified.
WD McMichael aged 40 night watchman at Atlanta Milling Company and De Kalb County police supernumerary was badly hurt by an unknown driver at Clifton Station near Atlanta Monday. He was taken to Grady Hospital for treatment as police search for the hit and run motorist.

Rome Ga July 19 Special The commitment trial of Billy Brown an United States seaman and Maine survivor on a charge of wife murder was postponed this afternoon due to missing witnesses for the estate. Tomorrow before Justice Broadwell the case resumes the defendant proclaims innocence and says his wife eloped with another man Mrs Brown's father L Stone retains counsel to prosecute and believes the daughter has been abducted though the body has not been found after an exhaustive search since Saturday.
