Senator John T. Morgan of Alabama will leave Washington on Tuesday night for Atlanta arriving Wednesday afternoon and proceed to Griffin where he will be a guest of Hon. Tom Crenshaw. He plans a two hour speech on the silver issue and storehouse money policy, drawing letters of support from Georgia Democrats.

Nashville July 15 The grand jury investigating Peter Blair of Knoxville for allegedly offering money to J W Taylor to vote for Peter Turney as governor returned an indictment marked No true bill None of Taylor’s witnesses substantiated the charge and the case is not substantiated as stated by the attorney general
Nelly Wright a 23 year old Atlanta woman faced a charge of attempted suicide after an alleged Sunday night attempt at Papauschek s drug store Green Point Nassau and Manhattan avenues She declined to answer questions before Justice Laimber and the case was adjourned. Also notes John Lawson of the Bahama islands reached St Augustine after drifting in an open boat since June 15 nearly blind and exhausted after a perilous voyage aided by scant provisions.
London July 15 Liberal losses widen as Conservatives gain seats across districts. Henry Stanley, the African explorer, defeats Liberal Trevelyan in Lambeth north. John Burns narrowly re-elected in Battersea amid a Labour setback. James Kier Hardie defeated in West Ham by Major Banks.
Ex-Prime Minister Stambuloff, escorted by M. Petrott, was attacked by four men in Sofia while walking from the Union Club. Two shooters fired, others stabbed him, with over twenty wounds and near-severed wrists. Petrott wounded slightly. one assailant arrested.
A Santa Clara dispatch says rebel bands led by Zayas Legon and Toledo defeated Major Arminaus’s column at Visto Hermosa in Santi Spiritus after an hour and a half of fighting. Government casualties were two killed and two wounded. Legon is said to be among the insurgent wounded. Another rebel band attacked a small government detachment at Provincia, dispersing them and burning the village, which was destroyed.
The bodies of Etta Alice and Nettle Pietzel, missing daughters of Benjamin F. Pietzel, were found this afternoon in the cellar of 16 St Vincent Street, Toronto. Detectives Cuddy and Grier located the remains. Holmes, jailed in Philadelphia, is suspected of the double murder after previous killings. A photo identification by Frank N. Nudel confirmed the occupant as the man who rented the house last October. The discovery followed police inquiries and a digging from the cellar floor, revealing remains likely of both victims.
Memphis July 15. Dr John D White fatally shot Jacob Rothschild on Main Street in front of D H Baldwins music store after a quarrel preceded by taunting notes. Rothschild, about 34, had been in Memphis since last October and was married with Dallas wife and children. White, a leading local physician, planned the act amid jealousy over a young woman involved with both men.
In New Orleans on July 1, a criminal court granted bail of $2000 each to 24 of 36 indicted rioting and murder defendants. Their attorney argued lengthy confinement without trial harms families dependent on manual labor, noting many are married with dependents and rents overdue. Judge Moise approved the application, allowing release prior to trial.
Kate Cobb of New Orleans traced and recovered her three year old daughter abducted four weeks earlier by her father Roland Cobb in Milton Santa Rosa County Florida. After a tense meeting mother and child left together for New Orleans. The Cobbs are described as socially prominent in New Orleans.
Don M Dickinson, for Mergenthaler Linotype, paid Colonel Frank J Hecker 415000 for all Rogers Topograph patents and rights. The settlement ends years of litigation and does not affect Regera users. Rogers Inc is fully paid. stockholders receive about ten cents on the dollar.
Albert Roberts veteran journalist and former associate of Henry Watterson died tonight in Nashville at July 15. He helped publish The Chattanooga Rebel with Watterson, led The Republican Banner in Nashville, edited The Banner after Watterson left, and remained editor until The Banner merged into The American. Appointed by Cleveland as consul to Hamilton Ontario in 1885 he served four years with distinction before returning to Nashville to own a stake in The Southern Lumberman and continue writing.
In Ocala Florida on Sunday morning Alderman Harry Coss was found dead beside a railroad track. Authorities suspect homicide with robbery not evident as Coss’s watch and money remained untouched. Coroner conducts investigation. In Jackson Mississippi Rev. John Hunter, longtime Presbyterian pastor, announces resignation in October after forty years leading the church.
