The Georgia legislature is urged to enact an inheritance tax. Proponents note Congress has not passed a federal law allowing inheritance taxes, while many states already collect revenue from such taxes. Supporters argue the tax is fair and would boost state revenues without burdening heirs during life. They call for a bill to be introduced and advanced this session.
