President Taft announced tentative fall tour plans during a stop in Philadelphia. He will begin his journey on his fifty second birthday September 16, visiting Seattle Portland San Francisco Los Angeles Corpus Christi Houston New Orleans Jackson Birmingham Montgomery Macon Augusta Savannah Wilmington Richmond before returning to Washington. He also indicated a possible visit to El Paso to meet President Diaz of Mexico. Mrs Taft’s improving health pleased the president.
Macon Georgia July 9 Special Members of the Macon Chamber of Commerce were told via Washington dispatches that President will visit Macon this fall on his return from a western trip. An invitation had been sent and citizens expect an enthusiastic reception. Augusta and Savannah will also host the president with plans aligned to the other cities.
Savannah Ga July 9 Spentalt A giant public reception will be a feature of President Taft's fall visit. Col G Arthur G don and Rev Dr Charles A Strong who met the president at Augusta are credited with Taft's promise to come. A river trip on the revenue cutter Tames craw and an automobile trip are suggested for chiefs.
