Government Plan to Relieve Unemployed with Farm Land Loans

Washington July Inter-departmental committee named by Interior Secretary Lane and Labor Secretary Wilson works on a plan to relieve unemployment by financing workers who want to farm land. A full program with draft legislation will be prepared before Congress meets in December to be proposed with rural credits. The system would use farm credits through Labor to enable city workers to take up agricultural work on reclamation projects or public lands with easy loans and no overhead charges. One department would have a representative in most counties to examine land quality and loan terms, and immigration funds might be used to finance the unemployment feature, citing congestion and joblessness in cities.
