Constitution Rates and Broadside Humor from 1909 Atlanta
A lengthy 1909 notice outlines subscription prices for The Constitution and promotions, followed by a satirical column poking at Taft, tariff debates, suffrage, clergy, and political figures. The column references Taft’s residence, Roosevelt busts, and local editorial voices, all framed in a wry, era-typical tone.

Call for income tax over corporation levy
The excerpt argues that taxes on corporations and individuals both fund government but differ in equity. It asserts the consumer bears the corporate tax eventually and urges Congress to enact a direct income tax, deeming it more just and effective for adequate revenue. It opposes the evasive Aldrich plan and predicts inevitable adoption of the income tax.
