State Medical Convention in Macon Sparks Debate
The 1871 Macon Georgia State Medical Convention opened at the city hall with Dr. W. A. Love urging unity among factions and urging orderly registration by member doctors from upcountry. Election of officers followed, with S. P. Hawkins named president and G. Hall vice president as credentials and relations committees worked through attendance and affiliations.
