Plant Coast Line absorption reshapes southern rail system
The Plant Coast Line absorption by the Atlantic Coast Line takes effect today with a temporary organization guiding operations. Trackage rights with the Plant system between Savannah and Jacksonsile are to be used by the Southern, while divisions in Wilmington and Savannah host passenger and freight quarters. Through trains to Denver and Amarillo begin planning with interconnected routes and new auditing decisions set by Beymer in Savannah.
