Birmingham Bank Fails to Open Doors
In Birmingham Alabama the Jefferson County bank with a $500000 capital did not open and a notice on the doors said the state banking department had taken over the institution for liquidation. The bank had earlier absorbed the Jefferson County Savings Bank and later merged Merchants and Meechanies Bank. Depositors and creditors are promised full payment and fair equity for stockholders.
