She alleges a conspiracy by doctors planning her death to gain heirs and lists ties to Mother Seton, Bishop Bayley, Monsignor Seton, and Confederate figures. Both husbands she cites are dead.
Tennessee penitentiary committee narrowed candidate sites to three farms near Nashville and Rutherford County. Morrow and Hicks farms and Cockrill farm are under review with health board members to assess sanitary conditions. A written report will be submitted with plans to buy 1000 to 1300 acres.

In Boone Iowa January 24 a blaze at the county poor farm housing the incurably insane killed eight of the nine inmates. Only one woman, Mrs Hibbard, escaped to raise the alarm. The steward reported banking fires at 9 pm and could not determine a cause beyond possible furnace defects. The dead were Tommy Tucker John Annasniggs Anna Soderburg Christine Anderson Christine Peterson Mrs Scott Tom Leaser and Joseph Craig.
A dynamite cartridge exploded in the smoking car of the Missouri Kansas and Texas train near San Marcos as it left San Antonio. Ed Binding, traveling agent for a San Antonio city brewery, and J C Meidelheimer, a leading Austin merchant, were killed instantly. Six other passengers were seriously injured.
World dispatch from Tegucigalpa reports a strong force of revolutionists and Nicaraguan allies attacked the city. They gained ground but were repelled by morning. Forty Hondurans killed, seventy wounded. Nicaraguan losses heavier. Both sides ready for another battle as troops are mobilized.
Judge Call granted an injunction shielding the Duval Athletic Club from Sheriff Broward allowing the Corbett Mitchell boxing match in Jacksonville to proceed tomorrow. The ruling held Florida law did not bar glove contests and sparked a citywide celebration among boxing supporters amid looming political pressure from Governor Mitchell.
