City already owns rights from Western and Atlantic, but must cross Central of Georgia, Monroe, Southern, and other lines. A bridge or viaduct spanning multiple tracks is needed, with the project costing beyond current investments. City Engineer says benefits are substantial if the extension proceeds amid solid ward support.
