Bishop Talbot Sued By Unfrocked Priest

Rev. Ethel bert Talbot, Bishop of the Protestant Episcopal diocese of central Pennsylvania, faces a civil suit for damages filed by Rev. I. N. J. Irvine. Irvine served papers as Talbot preached at a meeting in Struction of the Episcopal church. The board of inquiry earlier appointed by Bishop Tuttle was ruled uncanonically constituted and lacking jurisdiction.

Texas Courts Seek Requisition for Mrs Duke in Swindle Case

Nacogdoches January 17 District Attorney Imboden said he asked the governor for requisition papers to bring Alice Webb Duke on an indictment charging her with net swindling. He alleges she and C F Taylor bought the Redfield tobacco farm while warned not to enter the place. Hobbs who built the Redfield houses is owed 1600. Bank official J W Blaks says a $5000 four months note by Taylor Webb Co of Chicago indorsed by a Nacogdoches banker was not paid. bank expects judgment soon and notes the indorser is responsible.

Contest Filed Against Adams in Governor Election Case

In Denver the joint session of both houses granted extra time to answer the Peabody contest against Governor Adams. A five member committee was formed to draft contest rules, with Peabody represented by Joan Waldron and Adams by J B Bissell. A Park Avenue hotel letter dated December 1 1904 was cited in testimony.

Negro Woman Kills Husband in Nashile Ga

Nancy Campbell, a Black woman, shot and killed her husband Alex Campbell near Nashville Georgia with a 38 caliber pistol last night. Three bullets struck him, one in the head, one in the neck, and one in the left side. She has been arrested in Nashile and claims the shooting was an accident. The court verdict returned was murder.
