Ponce de Leon Residents Win Hearing for Faster Streetcar Service
Citizens on Ponce de Leon avenue in Atlanta won a state railroad commission petition for schedule changes. The Georgia Railway and Power Co. must start new schedules by April 1 with ten minute headways during peak hours and fifteen minute headways at other times, and the last outbound car must not depart before midnight after January 27. The commission upheld long-running protests against the current twenty minute service and late last cars.
