Burglarized Jeweler’s Shop Loot Recovered. Suspect Detained

Charles Dupont, 23, of Apexville Tenn, is held on burglary charges after a store at 94 Whitehall Street owned by Orr Stationery and A Holzman Jeweler was broken into last night. About $1000 in jewelry and valuables were recovered, with Dupont claiming he was waiting for a confederate who escaped. Police pursued him after he was seen in an alley at 1:33 AM. the partner allegedly escaped with part of the loot. Dupont will be tried this afternoon before Recorder Broyles.

Brilliant Reception for Judge Taft Tonight at Capital City Club

Dr. W. 5. Hikin, president of the Capital City Club, invites board members and their wives for a 4 30 pm gathering in the blue room with Judge Taft arriving at 9 pm for the main reception. Guests enter via Peachtree Street, with dressrooms and stairs noted, and a program including introductions by Dr. Wikin and supper in the ballroom. The club will feature red white and blue decorations and display American Beauty roses and Florida moss.

Ten Die in Dorsero Rail Crash Near Glenwood

Denver reports ten passengers dead after a Dorsero wreck as a Denver and Rio Grande train collided near Dotsero. The crash split the chaff car and wounded and deceased were loaded for transport to Glenwood Springs. A later report listed multiple engineers and firemen among the injured.
