A terse note claims Mullane's clearance and cost sales amount to nothing and that no Atlanta firm will contest, arguing the market cannot be matched.
Two dozen Goren of Towers and Hurk Damask Towels offered at bankruptcy sale. Towels described as 40 inches long and 19 metres wide, bleached and pure linen. Prices marked at 20c per item with bankrupted stock discounts. Tomorrow sale list includes Mullane price at 3c and 1c measures for smaller items.
Marseilles style remarks announce price cuts to defeat rivals as Mullane’s bankrupt stock of quilts napkins and damask goes on sale next week. About 183 pieces of crash and damask napkins and other linens priced from two to six dollars, slashed to bankruptcy prices per dozen.
High's offers 20,000 yards of Torchon and Medici laces in widths from one to five inches, new patterns valued 17 to 2c per yard, plus 9,090 yards of fine Torchon Smyrna and Medici laces at 154 yard. The shop touts hundreds of hand-made linen lace sets, many described as the choicest works of art.
Maslin underwear and drawers feature four tucks and deep hems in Fruit of Loom and New York Mills cotton. Chemises in muslin Lonsdale and Fruit Loom fabrics with yokes, tucks, and embroidery. Skirts and gowns in cottons with tucks and embroidery priced from 25 to 60 cents.
Underwear offered by Mullane's with large stock from Norfolk and New Brunswick mills and American Hosiery mills. Gents Merino shirts and drawers $2.00 regular, now 7 cents. Ladies silk and wool vests $2.25 to $1.00, Swiss ribbed wool vests $2.00 to $1.25. Misses and children's underwear half price.
In a bankruptcy style sale 150 dozen gents night shirts priced at 75 to 100 cents each 400 dozen fine suspenders at 25 cents each and 150 dozen gents linen collars from the bankrupt stock at 9 cents each.
