Rust Cuba Rust Cuba Page Summary
Fragmentary OCR notes discuss state subjects, reciprocity, and treaty elements involving Cuba and Detroit. Mentions protect industries and government actions, with unclear references to representatives and receipts. Overall, uncertain outline of a treaty context and protective measures.
Untitled fragment hints at names and distribution unclear
The readable portion suggests a discussion of skill and pain, with items like tins and fronts, but the text is garbled leaving the subject, actors, and outcome uncertain. Further context is needed to produce a precise headline and summary.

Senators Fail To Vote On Free Coal Resolution
In Washington on January 8 the Senate failed to vote on Senator West’s resolution to remove tariffs and push free coal. Republicans dominated the morning hour to discuss the coal issue without a vote, while Senator Aldrich argued the measure would fail to achieve its goal and infringe on revenue legislation. West defended his plan and criticized delays, citing President Roosevelt’s recommendation and Dingley-era rates. The debate touched on reciprocity, Treasury orders, and concerns over party politics, ending with an adjournment until Monday.
