Slava Bay campaign details and heavy losses in Suvla analysis
A long report recounts the August Suvla Bay operation during the Gallipoli campaign. It details artillery and water shortages, delayed landings, and costly fighting that left 72 000 casualties for General Birdwood’s force, with major losses among officers. It notes poor coordination, limited artillery support, and the eventual withdrawal of supplies and reinforcements. Innes Case Argued in Supreme Court
Washington January 6 Special- Solector Hugh Dorsey argued before the supreme court of the United States today the Innes extradition case on behalf of the state. He opposed by former Senator Joseph Weldon Bailey of Texas who represents Victor E Innes and Ida May Innes, held in Bexar county jail in connection with the disappearance of Beatrice Nelms and her sister Eloise Nelms. Bailey argued extradition from Oregon to Texas without consent did not make them fugitives. Dorsey urged the court to rule on fugitive from justice under the 5278 statute and constitutional provisions. The case is taken under advisement by the court.
