Sleeping Flagman Causes an Ead Wreck on the Buffalo Rochester and Pittsburg
A freight collision on the Buffalo Rochester and Pittsburg railroad near Warsaw N Y at about 2 am today killed two men and seriously injured another. The first section of train 33 left at 1 30 am to pick up cars at Rock Glen. A flagman who likely slept failed to set brakes leaving an idle group of cars and a caboose on the main track. The caboose and six coal cars plunged down a grade striking the second section as it pulled from the yard. BD J Cashman of Machias and William Morrell brakeman of Elmira are dead. George W Keifer the flagman is badly hurt. Cashman was found under wreckage Morrell atop the engine boiler.
