Trials Involving Bellamy Property Conclude In Superior Court
In a Tuesday afternoon session Judge J. H Lumpkin presided over the WR Phillips Jr Co versus Alice Bellamy Nick Holmes case over land at Chestnut and Jack streets. Disputed mortgage liens created contention. a verdict was expected. Attorneys Simmons Pettigrew represented plaintiffs. Battle Hines defended. Separately the Atlanta Ice Company filed a 25000 mortgage with Trust Company of Georgia to back bonds used for plant improvements and other purposes. Three state courts will resume next week with Judge Reid opening the city court and Judge Calhoun presiding over criminal business after Christmas. The superior court continued this week under Judge Lumpkin with a crowded docket.
