Secretary of State Phil Cook yesterday granted an amendment to the charter of the Millen and Southwestern Railroad Company. The right to extend state roads from Stilmore in Emanuel County to Waycross was approved upon application by Colonel Frank Safford of Swainsboro. Construction is under way to Lyons and then to Waycross, about eighty miles, linking with the Seaboard Air Line and opening up the wiregrass region to Augusta.
