Des Moines, Iowa February 25 General Master Workman Sovereign of the Knights of Labor denounces Judge Jenkins and declares his intention to violate the Northern Pacific injunction. Colonel John Huger, born in Charleston in 1808, and distinguished Southern family member, dies at 31 Fifth Avenue with several notable sons and a daughter living at 87 Fifth Avenue Lynchburg. Beverly A. Davis, aged 77, dies suddenly in Danville district politics veteran, once elected to Congress but not seated. Steele Mackaye dies aboard a Santa Fe train near Tempus Colorado while traveling toward San Francisco.
A basement fire at 3 o'clock this morning in Charles F. Kelloge's grocery at the Masonic Temple corner of F and Ninth streets destroyed property valued near 20000 before control was gained. No injuries reported. Investigators begin determining cause.

Thomas Adamson of Cedartown Georgia former consul general at Panama received the Order of the Double Dragon from the Chinese emperor. The gold jewel features precious stones and a Chinese parchment accompanies it. Adamson served in the consular service for over thirty years and aided the Chinese community on the isthmus.
Nashville February 23 Special The Tennessee Christian Endeavor union adjourned after the largest meeting ever held in the south. Resolutions propose circulating a petition to Tennessee's legislature urging a law to prohibit licenses for selling any spirituous liquors unless signed by a majority of male citizens over twenty one in affected towns. The petition reflects temperance workers’ conference proposals.
Greensboro Notea reports Crutchfield William of Guilford college and Paul Crutchfield of Winston have assigned with trustee R B Glenn. The assets total 5352 while asset value is not stated.
