Iroquois Fire Heroine Saved Doomed Crowd
Carrie Anderson a 14 year old heroine of the Iroquoia theater blaze will be discharged soon from Samaritan hospital. By catching and placing a ladder, she allowed over fifty people to escape as flames and fumes engulfed the building though she suffered severe burns and later mourned her mother who perished in the catastrophe. Her sister Ida is left with no income or home and adoption or charitable aid may follow. The story praises her presence of mind and laments the lack of recognition from those she saved.
