Want 0 Unite Two Libraries
Community groups in Macon urged the union of the Macon Public Library and the Price Free Library to reduce expenses and consolidate resources. Local Ladies of the Macon Woman's Club plan next week to push for the merger, pending official approval. The two libraries serve a large reading public and share patrons, with hopes a single building and librarian will cut costs and boost acquisitions. Other items note Japan's navy expansion plans and a new Seaboard Air Line sleeping car service between Atlanta and Memphis.

Brantley Wins on Court Bill in Congress
Washington reports the house passed Representative Brentley of Georgia’s bill expanding circuit court of appeals jurisdiction over interlocutory orders granting injunctions and appointing receivers. The measure, amending section 7 of the circuit courts act, would allow appeals within 30 days from such orders, with emphasis on ensuring timely review and bond options. Remarks from Brantley stress keeping final decree jurisdiction unchanged while broadening interlocutory appeal access, a reform urged by legal practitioners. Also noted is a shift in St. George church leadership as Rev William Rainsford resigns due to ill health and Rev Hugh Birckhead is elected successor at 29.
