Atlanta's R. M. Rose company, a leading southern liquor dealer, moved from 12 Marietta to 79 and 81 Peach Tree Street within an hour after a December fire. Randolph Rose led efforts alongside cashier F. A. Johnson and department heads J. G. Wright and Paul W. Curtis, with strong support from the rebuilding team. The firm, established 1867, remains the largest stockist in the south and runs a major government distillery operation in Gilmore, Cobb County.
