Governor Candler vetoes pension bills and Webster county dispensary plan
Governor Candler vetoed a Webster county dispensary bill and multiple pension resolutions. He ruled that funding for General Kell’s widow and various soldiers’ widows and children would violate the state constitution by constituting improper gratuities or donations. The vetoes cite articles and sections prohibiting donations to individuals and ensure pensions align with authorized provisions.
