Montgomery December 11. Special telegraphic dispatch from Holjer W. J. Peters of The Gordo Messenger reports there has been no riot in Pickens county. Twenty negros were arrested at Lowertown two miles from Gordo for interfering with an officer. The officer, Constable R. Love, was slightly wounded and a prisoner killed. Everything is quiet. The Ad at Columbus, Miss. ETB Kirksey corroborates Peters statement and says other reports are untrue.
