The Nineteenth Century club and the Business Woman's club of St Luke's hold meetings in the Georgian Terrace area. An Auxiliary of the Street Rite Convalescent Hospital for cripple children also convenes this morning at 10 o'clock with light refreshments to follow.
Misses Mary Aha Uinze Ridgely of Washington DC and Mrs Walters Dilton join many guests at the Georgian Terrace for society events. Attendees include Mr and Mrs Cheney, Mr and Mrs Hinman, and families from Birmingham, New York, and Knoxville. The weekend features dinners, weddings, and social visits as locals host visitors and relatives at Georgian Terrace and nearby clubs.
Mrs Hinton Baker of Augusta visits her parents Mr and Mrs J B Robinson and Dr and Mrs Dunbie To xra in New York. Dr and Mrs Charles Wilkins have returned after three years in New York to make Atlanta their home.
Harvard University President A Lawrence Lowell will be guest of honor at a Harvard Club of Atlanta banquet at the Depot?lla Gott club in Atlanta on Saturday evening. He plans a southern tour to foster Harvard interest, with the Atlanta event described as a remarkable moment in the Harvard club’s history. Samuel N. Evins, secretary of the club, is coordinating contacts.
Wives of Atlanta's representatives joined Rotary in a lavish Hotel Ansley luncheon. Attendance taxed the ballroom. four Rotary meetings per year for the women were decided. Governor Slaton urged Buy-in-Atlanta spirit and local purchasing, with J G Michag advertising oxcart stressing buying advertised goods. Speeches praised spending at home and donations funded souvenirs.
An aged ad promotes Byrd Printing Co services with guaranteed satisfaction and prompt rep visits. It urges buyers not to ship money away for meats, recommending Cornfield Brand hams, bacon, and shoulders from White Provision Company as a top home supply.
The session heard Hamilton Douglas announce that the Atlanta Law School will relocate to larger quarters on Mayer Street in the Elis Building at 51 and 33 South Pryor Street. The third floor will house the school, opposite the new $2,500,000 county courthouse, easing access to courts. George Alexander, U.S. District Attorney, lectured on land cities and noted Warren Grice’s regular Tuesday talks when present.
Secretary of State Phil Goole granted a charter to the Bank of Statenville in Echols County with $25,000 capital. Incorporators include Goopert of Waxcross and G. Garbut of Statenville. A charter was also granted for the Weathers Banking Company, a $25,000 institution in Dodly County. Applications for bank charters show a notable rise in activity at the state office.
Captain Robert M Clayton a former city water works chief and chief of construction announces a new consulting office in room 210 Temple Court. He offers expertise in waterworks purification sewerage and disposal highway and street projects. Clayton is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers American Waterworks Association and the Engineers Association of the South.
The Fulton County Civic League plans formal organization at 8 o clock this morning at the new courthouse. The meeting will elect officers and inaugurate by laws. It will cover reforms in county government including expenses and city court costs.
