Norwood Denies Senate Candidacy and Explains Alliance Views

In Savannah August 29 Colonel Norwood stated he is not a candidate for the United States Senate and would only serve if nominated. He called the alliance movement the second Declaration of Independence, defended the subtreasury plan, and urged national unity while warning against wealth power and factionalism. He urged no personal requests, emphasized private life, and urged farmers and all citizens to support a government guided by integrity rather than wealth.
